We believe that there is one God, who exists also as three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and that each are equal in power and glory. We believe that God loves us and wishes to be reconciled with us and to have relationship with every one of us, and that His heart is filled with compassion for each of us, but especially towards those who are broken-hearted, the poor, oppressed, weak, widowed and orphaned.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, the only infallible and authoritative Word of God, through which we have a guide for our Christian faith and practice. We believe in the literal creation of earth and man as described in the Bible, and that though Adam and Eve were created in God’s perfect image, it was because of their sin that mankind became separated from God, and as a consequence, every person is a sinner from the moment of conception.
We believe that Jesus Christ is God; that it was God’s plan that He became a human being by being born of the virgin Mary, that He lived a sinless life, that He performed miracles; and that He eventually died on the cross at Calvary and that the shedding of His blood on the cross was for the remission of our sins. We believe in Jesus’ resurrection and that he ascended to heaven to stand at the right-hand side of the Father. We believe in Jesus’ promise that He will return to earth in power and glory at the end of days, and that believers who are both dead and alive shall bodily be raised up to join Him.
We believe that it is by the Holy Spirit’s direction that we come to know our sinful nature and our need for forgiveness. We believe that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have salvation, and that every individual must make a conscious choice to acknowledge their sin and to repent of them, and to ask for Jesus’ forgiveness. We believe that forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ is a free gift, which we cannot obtain as a consequence of our own or any else’s actions or deeds.
We believe that by becoming a Christian, we are instantly forgiven of our sins, and that we have entered a life-long sanctification process in which God’s character develops in us, with the direction and strength of the in-dwelling Holy Spirit.
We believe that all Christian believers are members of the one family of Christ, and that are all equal in God’s sight, and that by Jesus’ blood we have His forgiveness and are adopted as God’s children. We believe that water baptism is the way that we externally demonstrate our belief in Jesus and His promises and acknowledge that we have become a new creation in Him. We believe that each person is given spiritual gifts and power through His Holy Spirit, to both do God’s work and to encourage and strengthen each other.
We believe that hell is real and that it is a place of suffering where people are forever separated from God, while believers will spend eternity in Heaven with Him, where there will no longer be tears or pain.
